500 Hour Program

Qi Gong

It is your birthright to feel fit, flexible, adaptable and playful!
The most enjoyable and potent way to celebrate and heal your body and mind is a daily practice.
20 minutes a day of Qi Gong, Embodied Awareness, Breathwork, and/or Meditation will change your life.

Qi Gong is an ancient form of exercise, healing, and prayer, developed by the Indigenous people of Asia.

Famous for its fluid dance-like gestures, Qi Gong focuses on deep relaxation, a balance of strength and flexibility, breathwork, somatic (embodied) awareness, and emotional intelligence.

All while deepening your relationship with your inner life and the natural world.

Breathwork

In our most instinctual moments, we sigh, scream, gasp, moan, inhale suddenly or yawn from fatigue.

Breathing is a metaphor for how we experience our lives, expansively or constrained.

Breathwork is an almost effortless way to reconnect with your instincts, balance your stress hormones, reduce inflammation and releive pain.

Breathwork is also a profound opportunity to develop a safe and tangible relationship with your health, your past experiences, your memories and the stories that can keep any of us paralyzed in our lives.

Somatic Mindfulness

Somatic Mindfulness is a form of Trauma Release Therapy and a form of daily personal practice. This healing process involves instinctual movement and awareness, transformational breathwork, guided meditation, bodywork, Qi Gong and Shamanic Journeying.

Somatic Mindfulness is also a form of therapeutic counseling, supporting people in the process of resolving trauma, addiction, chronic pain, and autoimmune disease.

Traditional Qi Gong Training

Level One ~ Level Three

We will begin our training with a DEEP-DIVE into the first three levels of traditional Qi Gong principles and practices.

After learning this ancient and powerful ‘language’ of movement, breath and prolonged meditative stillness, we will weave the Somatic Mindfulness Process into your Qi Gong practice.

~ Level One ~

Fundamentals Of Movement And Breath

We will begin by improving your circulation and open every joint in your body!

As you become more flexible and fit, you will begin to explore the essentials of Breathwork. You will notice changes in your postural alignment and Energetic Awareness very quickly. It is always a good idea to try new things carefully, especially if you are new to exercise, have any chronic health concerns or have any previous injuries.

You will also be guided into meditative states and experiential opportunities to become more coherent and adaptable with your awareness. This shift into more conscious movement will improve your coordination and change how you embody distress, fatigue, and tension.

~ Level Two ~

Traditional Qi Gong Forms

In Level Two you will explore two traditional Qi Gong forms.

First, you will learn the famous Eight Pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin). This is one of the most sought after forms in the world!

Second, you will Learn the subtle Balancing Heaven and Earth (Tian Di He Yi Fa). This ancient practice is used to connect with nature and feel the ‘mood’ of the seasons. The Tian Di He Yi Fa was practiced by ancient indigenous healers on the Solstices and Equinoxes.

Your Breathwork practice will evolve with the Deep Healing Flow. This form of transformational breathwork can be practiced standing, seated, lying or with spontaneous movement to your favorite music.

Forms are repetitive and choreographed routines and are an essential aspect of Qi Gong practice. With the skills and experience you have from Level One, you can now begin a thorough exploration of your biomechanics, your breath and your connection with Nature.

~ Level Three ~

Deep Stillness and Precise Coordination

Level Three will challenge and reawaken your dexterity and alignment!

We will begin with a Qi Gong Warm-Up for Martial Artists. Then you will be invuted to open the vast treasure chest of Standing Meditation. This is the most effective practice to bring anyone back into their body.

You will also be guided into the Essentials of Chan (Zen) Seated Meditation practice. An ancient doorway into patience, focus, and compassion.

Transformational and Shaolin Breathwork will empower you heal your body, release trauma, and reconnect with your intuition.

To challenge your coordination and patience you will also study the classic Chan Si Jin – Silk Reeling Exercises. This is one of the most unique and powerful aspects of Traditional Qi Gong and martial arts practice. It is also scientifically proven to improve your Neuroplasticity.

EVERY athlete and dancer would benefit from this level of coordination!

After you have completed your first year of studying Qi Gong you will be invited to join the first section of Level Four

Somatic Mindfulness Qi Gong

This integration of ancient wisdom and modern science helps people reduce anxiety and relieve depression by releasing Embodied Trauma from their connective tissue and nervous system.

Most people who want to learn Qi Gong have a chronic illness. If you are going to teach someday, you will benefit from a clinical perspective on embodied trauma and its effects on the immune system.

Being a Trauma Semsitive and Trauma Effective Qi Gong is essential in 2020

This contemporary integration of Qi Gong and Trauma Release practices is a great way to introduce yourself to your local community and a great focus for a weekend workshop.

My hope is that you will become an excellent and Trauma Informed Qi Gong teacher.

Somatic Mindfulness Qi Gong was designed for people with Autoimmune Disease, PTSD, and Addiction.

Let’s look at how Qi Gong, Somatic Mindfulness, and Breathwork can help people regain their vitality and live a long happy life.
