Rhytids, or wrinkles, are treated with Botox for the chin.
The wrinkles on your chin are known as dynamic rhytids. That means wrinkles change shape depending on how the muscles beneath your skin move. These types of rhytids are caused by your muscles repeating the same actions over and over again.
Your brain and muscles communicate when and how your face should move. This communication method is enabled by the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Chin Botox works by preventing the release of acetylcholine for a short period of time.
Botox is a toxin that is injected into the muscles and causes them to become immobile. The impact is just temporary, and it has no negative consequences.
